So, if my great-great grandfather had been hung as a horse thief, does that mean I have a right to special counciling or government protection if I'm confronted with a noose? I'm so damn sick of the tail wagging the dog, especially over nothing! It's a piece of rope people, it has no sentient thought process or means of inflicting harm of it's own accord.

Why not get cranked up over these child molesters or something else that is a real threat? Oh no, they are a victim of society. We failed them in some fashion. You're right, we did. They should have been neutered at the first conviction, not set free intact to inflict more pain and suffering on the population.
