I'm undergoing treatment for a rather serious disease. I spent a week in the hospital last month receiving treatment. Received the statement today showing the amount they presented to my insurance company for payment. One week = $93,000. No surgery, mind you. Pharmacy charges were over $82,000. Guess what stocks I'm going to invest in? At least short term.
Do I agree with government mandated health care? NO! Should there be some regulation of costs? Perhaps, but very limited. Time and again we've seen industries fall victim to greed when left on their own.
